Fine-tuning training strategy based on heart rate variability: A case study of a middle-distance runner

  1. Hi Tanaka and colleagues,

Thanks for sharing this case study. I’m just wondering if there were any performance testings besides the time-trials performed during the training period? I’m curious to see how much physiological changes can be expected using this HRV guided approach.

    Thanks!

  2. Dear Marcus,

    Sorry for the late replay.
The athlete had regular treadmill running tests in the lab to evaluate physiological variables such as VO2max, running economy, peak velocity.
The results were sometimes good, But there were no meaningful difference before and after the 23-week period.
